Put the verbs into the correct tense (Simple Past or Past Progressive).

While Tom was reading, Amely was watching (two actions happening at the same time in the past, emphasis on progress = Past Progressive) a documentary on TV.
Marvin came home, switched on the computer and checked(actions happening one after another = Simple Past) his emails.
The thiefs neaked into the house, (Your answer: »stealed«) stole the jewels and left (actions happening one after another = Simple Past) without a trace.
